The Autex Acoustics® offices are a busy hive of teams working on projects together. Having your marketing, sales, and design teams all in the same space means that there is a constant buzz of conversation and collaboration. This need for collaboration had to be reflected in the functionality of their space. Being an open plan office there is often a lot of chatter, as a result, acoustics play an important role in the space’s efficiency. These acoustics would need to allow for people to focus on individual tasks while also allowing for a comfortable space where groups can engage with each other.
Finding a solution that provides visual stimulation as well as strong acoustic properties, was crucial to creating the best space for their staff. Given the space available, Lanes in the style of Peak and colour Opera was selected as the best solution. With one side of their building fully composed of ceiling to floor windows, there is an abundance of natural light. When this light hits the Peak styled pattern, shadows are cast adding variation in colour and shape within the room. This particular solution covers a large area which means that it is a large contributor to the acoustic efficiency and comfortability of all the inhabitants.
This office space has high ceilings creating an open space where echoing could occur without the implementation of adequate acoustic solutions. On top of Lanes, Frontier™ ceiling beffles were installed. Filling what would otherwise be an empty space, they reduce the size of the room and help control the noise created by voices. Positioned directly above the desks, it is critical to the comfort of all inhabitants within the office.
